From Honduras to the United States Supreme Court: The Story of Attorney José López

In this exclusive interview with Telepaís, Attorney José S. López shares his incredible story of overcoming adversity: from his childhood in El Progreso, Yoro, Honduras, to becoming one of the most recognized Hispanic lawyers in Houston, Texas.

As a Honduran immigrant, José López arrived in the United States as a child and faced the challenges of adapting to a new culture, learning a new system, and making his way in a country full of opportunities.

With discipline, education, and perseverance, he graduated as valedictorian of his law school class, was recognized as his university’s “Student of the Century,” and was admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States.

Today, in addition to leading a successful law firm, he dedicates his time to supporting the community through mentorship programs, educational projects in Honduras, and nonprofit organizations that help immigrant families.
